I’m 19 today. However, this comes with no new privileges or abilities. 2 more years until I can drink, 6 more until I can rent a car, etc. Still, it’s been a good birthday so far.

You can rent a car once your 18 - you just have to pay the under-25 fee. I know this because I’ve been renting cars all over the country since I was 18. Interestingly they stopped charging me the fee when I turned 24 last year…
As for what’s new at 19, your adulthood is validated. At 18 there’s a “yeah, you’re legally an adult, but just barely” attitude. At 19, mysteriously you get more respect as an adult from people older than you.
